Land Rover Series IIA

Land Rover Type

This is a LEGO MOC of a early Series IIA Land Rover (ca. 1965).

This model is based on the Land Rover Defender MOC
Zagdima credits Lichtblau for the original model design of the Defender MOC

The title picture was taken from a real life build of the model in my own garden. (I swear I didn't notice the fly on the roof until much later!)

    Absolutely stunning level of detail!

BTW, you can hack the file 'pli.mpd' located in c:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\LPub3D Software\LPub3D\extras\ to tweak the orientation of parts, and play with the edge color of black parts in 'LDConfig.ldr' in c:\Users\Public\Documents\LDraw\

Thank you for the high praise.
And thanks for the LPub3D tips! I hope to find some time on the weekend to try out these tweaks.

I like the looks of this.
I took a quick glance at the PDF. The black parts' connections are a little hard to see, but 2x zoom took care of that.
I know where to find the 4x 18654 I need. My husband just built all the Speed Champions, so I'll raid his extra parts bag. :)

Thanks for the kind words, Thea!

You're right: the black parts can be a bit hard to make out in the instructions. They were created using LPub3D with LDraw as rendering engine.
I made this model as a birthday present for a friend who used to drive such a Land Rover, so I printed this out in colour. On the printout it's even a bit harder to make out at times. I don't know if I can change something in the LPub settings to improve this. I will check.

There is another thing which can lead to a bit of confusion, because in the parts lists in the PDF you cannot really distinguish part 2444 from 3022. :-( But it should become clear from the picture of the build step.

I hope I won't get you in trouble with the hubby... with you nicking his parts... ;-)
