10265 Pickup Truck

This Pickup truck roughly inspired by a 70´s F100 is an alternative of Creator Expert set 10265 Ford Mustang.

  • Hand-of-god (HoG) steering
  • Opening doors, bonnet and tailgate
  • Detailed engine and interior

Much effort has been made to provide an excellent experience; the step-by-step instructions should be easy to follow by an experienced builder, and the model itself is solid and can easily be picked up (no pun intended) and played with.

I really liked this build ! You did an amazing job. The truck is really nice and goes well with my other sets.
It is my first MOC and I'm not disappointed! I just made some little changes with the remaining parts and some spare parts of other sets, I will post photos. I made a wooden floor for the bed and changed the rear door to add the GT logo !

Thanks! Glad you like it, especially since this is your first MOC build. Thanks for sharing some pics as well. You made some nice modifications!

The Ford Pickup Truck is awesome! Unfortunately, I do not have a PayPal account. Is it also possible to buy the building instructions via credit card?
    • 4 days, 7 hours ago NKubate Level 15 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Thanks! Just send me an email or a PM and I'm sure we can figure something out!

Yes, I sent you an email via the form on your website. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but it seemed like there was something wrong with the form function at my site, so I unfortunately did not receive your message. I had an administer look at it and now it should work again. Perhaps you could try sending once more, and my sincere apologies for the inconvenience.
        • 3 days, 7 hours ago NKubate Level 15 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Alternatively you could write and leave your comment on my site directly under the model. So far this seemed to have worked without problems.

Super solid MOC. Lots of fun to build. With some extra parts it is super easy to add some features and make the build kind of your own. Weak point are the doors. But this is a B-Model and Lego offers much worser stuff in the original sets like the Chiron. Highlight for me is the look of the rear axle. Super nice.
Thanks for the good work. Keep it up.

Thanks for your kind feedback! I agree that the door hinges are the weakest point. Glad to read you are pleased overall and that you made some small modifications to make the model your own.

The instructions were super easy to follow and look very professional.  The design is also really solid and the end result model looks great even with the limitation of parts included in the set.  If given no limit of parts to use I would only change a few parts and only because of the color.  Looking forward to seeing what this designer creates next!

    Another great looking MOC here.

Thank you for uploading some pictures of the model! I really like the comparing pic displaying several models. I'm also very interested to read a few words from you regarding your experiences with my models and how they do compare. Would you mind to write a short review both here on this pickup and then similarly on the GT04? It would be much appreciated because I'm much dependent on the feedback from others!

This is a very nice build. My first alternate one ever. I like it very much. I have added some orange bullet turn signals at the front bar and changed the rear mirrors to 2x2 format. Rgds from Switzerland!

Thanks wonderful design! I enjoyed building this set and my son loves playing this pickup truck. He seems like picking goods by this truck. I think the door hinge can be improved better firm.
    • 1 month, 2 weeks ago NKubate Level 15 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Thank you for taking the time to provide me with some feedback. Glad to hear the overall experience has been a positive one. I also agree with your critique that the door hinge is a bit flimsy. It has been the part that I was never really satisfied with, but I was unfortunately not able to come up with a better solution. Will try better next time.

Amazing design, like an official product. Thank you for your creation.
That's my first moc which I payed for!

But I have two little proposals for you.
    1. Please make suggestion for the positioning of brick with the original sticker. your instruction use all the parts without stickers. So I started the build with the 6 clean bricks 3069b. But in step 68 I should have to put the last 3069b with the mirror sticker on the front bumper.
So I decide to deconstruct from step 68 back to step 43 to exchange the brick 3069b with mirror sticker under the rear left fender.

    2. I build the set with my smartphone. For me it was sometimes a little bit tricky to see the little details of the dark blue bricks like brick 14x3024. Maybe it could help, if you can make the dark blue a little bit lighter in the instruction.
    • 2 months, 1 week ago MGFirewater Level 6
or you modify your instruction like in the pic of tomasz01.

I think that's the best solution for the sticker on the front fender problem
    • 2 months, 1 week ago NKubate Level 15 Designed this MOC DESIGNER
Thank you for taking the time to provide me with some constructive feedback. First of all it's a delight to read that you compare this model with an official product and that you seem pleased with your first moc instruction purchase! I always put great care in providing an excellent experience and end product which hopefully will set my work apart from others.
When it comes to your proposals I have tried to take in consideration the stickers, but the tile with the mirror sticker is indeed one I couldn't integrate properly. Because 3069b in grey is very common, one could either consider swapping the part or like tomasz01 did come up with a creative solution yourself. That's so great with Lego bricks that you can always modify if you don't like things.

I'm also aware that the dark blue color makes it hard to differentiate parts in these instructions. It probably has to do with the rendering software that I'm standard using with Ldraw. I will look into this the next time I'm designing a model that uses a lot of dark blue. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Nathanael. So im done with your instruction 5 minuntes ago.
I like the front sooo so much. it was great to build, but with the stickers bricks I stay in trouble :)
for the hood i miss the last large blue brick

i search about 15 mins in two rooms. I was convinced that I lost the part when I took the Mustang apart. The brick stayed away. So I decide to check both part lists. You only unused one brick. And then I remembered the accessories for the mustang, the two blue license plate stickers. Et volia that was the missing bricks for the hood.

You decide to create a wonderful f100 only of parts of the lego 10265 mustang. Lego create this set for fanboys of cars. this guys will use the original stickers on the parts. so in my opion you created a better construction experience by accept these circumstances.

I don't use this feature of LPub3D (correct me if I'm wrong, but you're using this software), but you can use the "highlight step" feature in the dark blue case. Like every feature it seems to be localy activated for the steps it's needed.

OK...between this set and Firas GT-500, I have to buy two more sets of 10265.  Just purchased these plans...too good not to!  Thanks!

Your praise is much appreciated! I did spend a lot of time on making both the model and instructions solid experiences. Seems like I succeeded. :D

I did not really like the original Mustang (but had to buy it anyway).
I love this pickup - the only thing I do not like is the inverted GT sign (but there was no other way to finish it without this brick).

Apart from that the model is awesome and looks great among other official and MOC LEGO sets.

Beau boulot !

Thanks! A bit surprised that you haven't done a (pickup) model from this set yet. I consider this almost standard procedure from you. ;-)

I was curious when I can see your new alternative model and what it will be. Now I know that it is another awesome car. Good job!

Thank you! It's indeed been a while since my last alternate, and, yes, cars are still my preferred subject.

It's a bit of a controversy but the model turned out a little bigger than your monster truck. ;)
