Space 1999 Eagle

This is a MOC of the Eagle transporter from the TV show Space 1999 (Mondbasis Alpha 1 in German, Cosmos 1999 in French) from 1975. The passenger pod has full interior and can be separated from the Eagle transporter like in the series (pillars not included in part list). An optional staircase (included in part list) can be attached to the pod and the doors can be removed.

Dimensions:

Length: 44.3 cm
Width: 17.1 cm
Height: 9.9 cm
Weight: 886 g

You have to apply white adhesive foil on some of the black parts of the cockpit, because they have to be white on one side and black on the other side. Alternatively you could use white parts and add black foil, which probably looks better but is more difficult to attach.

For the nozzles you could use chrome parts to even better match the original look of the Eagle. You can see more photos of the original Eagle transporter on this page: Space1999.net

The Moon Buggy on the photos is available as free MOC here: Moon Buggy MOC

Now this brings back some childhood memories 😊 actually had the Dinky toy version of this. Well done sir your MOC now goes to the top of my MOC bucket list, best representation of an eagle in Lego I have seen yet. Hope you don't mind but I have a couple of questions. Do you have any plans for making different style pods and are the computer consoles Lego prints/stickers or your own design ?

Thank you! 🙂 Yes, I was already playing with different pods, but had no success so far. I tried to make the winch pod with power functions motor, but there is not enough space. Maybe I make a manual winch version, that should be no problem. The other pod with those docking parts on the side has a lot of sloped angles, which is also a challenge. When I have something, I will post it here.

The computer console parts are printed Lego parts, but you can exchange them for any of those computer console slopes which are available. The render image of the console above is a little different from the part list and instructions (I've used the same console part 3039p70 in the lower section twice).

The only stickers are the white ones in the cockpit area and optionally black ones on the landing pods around those little nozzles.

Thank you, I was a big fan of the eagles when I watched the the TV-show in the 80s.

Great design and execution!  Your photographic skills do a lot to show off the quality of your build.
