Kylo Ren's Star Destroyer: Alternate build of 75104 - Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle.

Backstory:
After the assault on Starkiller Base, Kylo Ren was seriously injured and needed rest. And also time to think about the terrible things he did. He needed a place where he could face with his anger issues.

It is not based on any real design. I got some ideas from 75055-1 - Imperial Star Destroyer.
The build is very sturdy so that it won't fall apart while swooshing.
The original model was heavily criticized for its color choices (it should have been black) and its non folding wings. Fortunately, this looks better with this lighter color tone. I've also fixed the folding problem on the wings. :)

Functions:
 - Foldable side walls.
 - The tower is foldable and detachable.
 - 2 spring shooters. Please don't use them! :)
 - A simple stand that can be used to display the model at a nice angle.
 - All six minifigures can fit in:
    2 Weapon control station
    1 Navigation station
    1 Guard
    1 General Hux's Command station
    1 Kylo Ren's Regeneration bed

Size: 39*23*15 cm (49*29*19 in studs).
High quality PDF instructions included.

If you liked it and actually built it, please submit your fan photos!

This model uses a lot of spare parts from the set. Before you begin to disassemble the original ship, make sure you have all the spare parts!

Not sure whether or not to use the set I have or get another one but either way this is getting built, amazing rebuild.
I would be surprised if a lego rep seen this and asked you to put it in the LEGO ideas it’s that good.
    Thanks for your hard work.

This was my greatest build yet. I've been looking for an alternative build for this set.

Remarkable re-use of the bricks. I happen to have two of this sets and I just had to build this MOC. Did some small modifications. Looking forward for more of your MOC ideas.

      Thanks!
Maybe everybody knows, but there is an easy way to see all my other ideas on Rebrickable.

Impressive work all around. It really deserves all the positive comments. I would buy the set to build this. Not often I think like that!

Thank you. You are very kind!
I've seen the jump in the sales statistics of The LEGO Group after I published this MOC. ;)

I have seen this before, didn't realize it was an alternate! Wow! Excellent work!

The greatest recognition is if you don't even assume it's an alternative build. :)

I personally dislike the actual set, but I want it to get it now to build this XD

I changed the main image so there is no more misunderstanding. ;)

Built this today and it was a ton of fun.  Great job on this!  I didn't realize at first that the tower piece snaps in to the brick on the body.   The back wall does pop off sometimes, I'll look into trying to secure that more.

I feel like maybe some more weaponry needs to be added?  Not like the First order Star Destroyer though.  Going to play around with it and post pictures tomorrow :)

I have tried several ways to build a tower that is strongly connected AND can be folded backwards. My solution is not perfect, so I do not mind if someone makes it better. :)
You're right, it would be nice to have more weapons, because it's pretty defenseless. I can see it now.
I like this constructive kind of comments, thank you! I look forward to the pictures (with more weapons)! :)

Tried so.e different things.   Not totally happy with the weapons.  What do you think of closing up the ope. Spots on the wings?

Your pictures are great, thank you! The angry prisoner! :) I like the new weapon system too! It's funny, you covered the holes on the wings. I've worked so hard on them! :)
These are good ideas for further update those who will build it after you.
If you do not mind, you can post the pictures here (Submit Fan Photo function).
(Sorry for the late reply. It was a long national holiday.)

Man this is one of the best alternate builds I have come across. As soon as I saw it I had to open my stashed set to build it.
Couple of tough spots, but figured it out and man it is amazing. Thank you so so so much!!

Thanks for the nice words and the photo! You are very welcome!
There are many great alternative models on this site. It is true that they are mainly Technic and Creator. It's really rare such a large alternative model from a Star Wars set. That's why I had to make one... ;)

This looks awesome - I have just taken my shuttle apart and will start building the destroyer soon. One small thing - do you have an idea how to integrate a handle to swoosh around? That would be awesome.
    • 1 year, 8 months ago tpetya (5K) MOC Designer
      Thanks!
The ship's lower frame is rigid enough to fix the handle. There are several free pin holes that you can easily attach to it. However, you will need additional parts that are not included in the set.

I’m at the end of building this an I have a lot of missing pieces is this just me misplacing pieces or does it require additional pieces
    • 1 year, 8 months ago tpetya (5K) MOC Designer
I did not write, but a lot of spare parts are needed, which is included in the set. Probably this may be the reason. Your photos are great, thank you!

Fantastic - thank you for all the time & effort you put in to this MOC, my 9 year built it this weekend and loves it.

I forgot to mention it! The gun turrets look great!  :)
  • 1 year, 9 months ago petersuperx (471)
@Tpetya This is awesome! How did you come up with the idea to convert it to a Star Destroyer? I only thought about turning it into Kylo's Tie silencer.
    • 1 year, 9 months ago tpetya (5K) MOC Designer
After seeing the many wedge plates (12x3), there was no question what to build. The TIE Silencer is also a very good idea. Someone should do it. :)

This looks so awesome! I'm also really excited by the news of the VIP release of the Star Wars Millennium Falcon set (75192)! I'm a sucker with my money for anything LEGO Star Wars and Kylo Ren's Star Destroyer will be another wage slip burned though. Oh my wife loves my LEGO addiction...
    • 1 year, 10 months ago tpetya (5K) MOC Designer
Don't buy the Millenium Falcon 75192 ($799)! "That one's garbage!". 8 rusty and old minifigures?
Instead, buy 10 pieces of 75104 ($79.9 on sale) and build an armada of Star Destroyers. 60 young and shiny minifigures!
      Your wife will understand... :)
